Final two pandemic-delayed BTO projects completed: HDB

Positioned between Serangoon Roadway, Lavender Street and Boon Kheng Road, Kempas Residences BTO project has 583 units of two-room flexi, three-, four-room apartments across four residential blocks.

The standing ventures had waiting times of up to 5 years. Overall, over 18,000 flats were finished in 2024, states HDB.

The final block, that was postponed by six months from its first PCD, was finished in mid-January.

As at Jan 15, 37 households or about 7% of 555 booked units have gathered their keys.

In 2024, HDB completed a sum of 22 home properties, 17 of which were delayed by the pandemic. With the exception of one that was postponed as a result of non-pandemic reasons, the remaining four housing plans were finished in a timely manner.

Currently, 110 HDB home jobs are under construction, up from 95 a year ago due to the increase in BTO supply in recent years. HDB says it is on track to complete around 17,000 condos throughout 27 projects in 2025.

As at Jan 15, 657 houses or 59% of 1,109 booked units have picked up their keys.

The 22 house projects consisted of 2 Shorter Waiting Time (SWT) projects, which were completed in just a waiting period of much less than 3 years. The SWT work, Parc Glen at Tengah and Grove Spring at Yishun, comprised an overall of 1,995 apartments.

Both Build-to-Order (BTO) plans, Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) and Kempas Residences, mark the completion of HDB’s pandemic-delayed property projects. As a whole, the 92 plans have actually delivered over 75,800 brand-new flats to Singaporeans over the last 5 years.

Minister for National Development Desmond Lee has announced the finalization of the last two pandemic-delayed projects from HDB, according to a Jan 20 launch.

According to HDB, the completion of Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) marks the completion of all flats in the Punggol Point District. This includes Punggol Point Cove (Stage 1), Punggol Point Woods and Punggol Point Crown BTO projects, which were finished in 2024.

Apartment homeowners of Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) have been obtaining the keys to their brand-new house as November 2024, while key collection for Kempas Residence began in mid-January this year.

Placed around New Punggol Roadway, Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) comprises 1,179 units of two-room flexi, 3-, 4- and five-room flats throughout 6 residential blocks. Following pandemic hold-ups, the work’s last block was completed one year from its initial Probable Completion Date (PCD) at an earlier time this month.

HDB is expected to inform the remaining flat proprietors of their key collection date shortly, following the finish of the last blocks just within both plans this month.
