The Singapore Edition: The people’s choice for luxury hospitality
The Singapore Edition is positioned inside the Tanglin Road-Cuscaden Road area, next to Orchard Road. The hotel is part of a mixed-use project by City Developments, Hong Leong Holdings, and Schrager’s Lea Investments that furthermore includes the 154-unit high-end condo unit Blvd 88. The mixed-use project is a redevelopment of the previous Boulevard Hotel.

The hotel presents a striking facade constructed from glass and bronze, which separates it from Blvd 88 and various other neighbouring structures. An indoor courtyard, lushly dressed up with plant, adds a further layer of separation in between the hotel rooms and houses, while a skies bridge on the ninth floor attaches the two structures.
The positive testimonials forecast well for the hotel, that notes Edition’s initial venture into Southeast Asia. The hotel label, established by hotelier Ian Schrager in collaboration with Marriott International, first ventured within Asia with the beginning of The Tokyo Edition Toranomon in 2020.
” As a brand-new generation of life-style high-end hotels, we draw in critical visitors that look for modern-day luxury beyond standard conventions,” claims Ranim Ben Romdhane, the hotel’s general supervisor. “Our design centers on tidy, minimalist aesthetics improved by unexpected pops of colour and distinct fixtures, creating areas that resonate universally while preserving classy appeal.”
Schrager, together with the Hong Kong-based layout firm Cap Atelier, designed the hotel’s interiors. Going into the hotel, guests are greeted by a double-height entrance hall secured by a grand spiral stairs that leads to the remainder of the hotel’s various offerings. These include the trademark bar Punch Room, the Wonder Room mini club and the conservatory, that offers over 300 native plant types along with 162 managed brush spheres put on hold from above. Other features include function rooms and a ballroom.
Visitors have access to a complete array of health and lifestyle services, including a health spa with 7 therapy rooms, thermal pools, sauna and steam rooms, and a wellbeing lounge. At the sky bridge, a 43m infinity swimming pool features a transparent oculus, enabling guests swimming on top of it to view down at the yard underneath.
The Singapore Edition, a 204-key high-end hotel on Cuscaden Road, has rapidly gained prominence throughout the city’s hospitality landscape. Ever since it opened its doors in November 2023, the hotel has amassed praise for its roomy suites, attractive style and mindful professional service.
Rounding out the hotel’s offerings are its dining outlets, that include Fysh, the first international station of Australian chef Josh Niland. The restaurant offers a reimagined take on the seafood steakhouse, with an attention on sustainability and ethically sourced produce.
The feedbacks are even uniform with The Singapore Edition’s performance at the EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards (EPEA) 2025. The hotel got the People’s Choice Honor after amassing the most votes in the hotel classification. The triumph notes the 2nd time the hotel has secured a title at the awards. Last year, it got home the award for Best Luxurious Hotel.
World-renowned architect Moshe Safdie of Safdie Architects, in partnership with DP Architects, changed the site into a brand-new standard for modern luxury. To produce separate identities between the hotel and the houses, Safdie went with 2 distinct designs, with the homes covering a pair of 28-storey high rises that perch above the hotel spaces, that are housed in a broad, low-rise six-storey block.
Whilst the hotel’s layout and amenities are outstanding, general manager Romdhane thinks that ultimately, The Singapore Edition’s appeal boils down to the customised service provided by its team. “This commitment to authenticity, combined with our world-class facilities, creates an exceptional guest experience that encourages regular visits,” he says.
The Singapore Edition offers a mix of guest rooms and suites, varying from regular king rooms starting from 38 sqm (409 sq ft) to sizable suites beginning with 67 sqm (721 sq ft). The biggest accommodation at the hotel is a 200 sqm (2,153 sq ft) penthouse, total with a lounge, dining-room, fully equipped kitchen area, and an outdoor balcony with an exclusive pool.
