Hyatt to debut Alila brand in Japan with Hakone mountain retreat

Hyatt Hotels has announced an arrangement with Fujita Corp to launch Alila Sengokuhara Hakone– set in the area of Sengokuhara in the hilly region of Hakone– noting the Alila brand name’s initial property in Japan. The property is planned to open in 2028.

The resort is created to combine right into the natural surroundings, with Japanese firm Kengo Kuma and Associates appointed as the project’s architect.

“We prepare for Alila Sengokuhara Hakone becoming a new standard for luxury hotels in Japan,” points out Yoji Okumura, president of Fujita Corp
.

The hotel is going to sign up with a global profile of 19 existing Alila real estates, including 13 throughout Asia. The company’s intro in Japan will bring Hyatt’s Japan accounts to 10 brand names.

Located within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Forest, Alila Sengokuhara Hakone stands in a location known for its seasonal elegance, art museums, volcanic terrain, and breathtaking scenery towards Mount Kintoki.

Centred on the restorative custom of Japanese onsens, the real estate presents 60 guestrooms, including 11 suites, that featured an exclusive natural warm spring bath each.

When it comes to dining, Alila Sengokuhara Hakone’s restaurant and bar will champion locally sourced, seasonal ingredients from neighboring areas, woodlands and oceans– aligning with the brand’s dedication to culinary experiences rooted in their setting. The menus will include flavours of the place, linking visitors through its components to Hakone and the wider Japanese geography.

The hotel’s other feature include a yoga deck surrounded by the natural surroundings, delivering visitors a relaxing space to draw in, exercise and reconnect. The resort is going to also offer curated Alila Moments– signature events that allow guests to immerse themselves in Hakone’s traditions and lifestyle past a standard hotel stay.
